about

Mel gave me a Leslie cabinet-style modulation pedal as a Christmas present, and the first time I plugged it in, I played this riff and felt like there was a song in it.
To get a very steady, mechanical type of sound to the rhythm track, I used a two-bar loop of my drum performance from another song, then added proper bass and guitars on top. Written and recorded between Christmas and New Year, and mixed in the couple of weeks after that.

lyrics

You say hello and it's growing
Yes it's growing
I want to know where we're going
Where we're going

Come let me hold your hand
Come let me hold your hand
Never, never say goodbye
Let's go around again
Let's go around again
Look me, look me in the eye
You won't ever need to cry

Where is your heart when you're with me
When you're with me?
Where do I start with what you give m
What you give me?

Come let me hold your hand
Come let me hold your hand
Never, never say goodbye
Let's go around again
Let's go around again
Look me, look me in the eye
You won't ever need to cry

Not ever
Not ever
When you turn out the light
In the darkest part of the night
You'll find me deep inside
